The Ross Controls 3573A8182W is a SERPAR 35 Series double valve for clutch/brake control (internal monitoring & lockout) with a 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" NPT port, override not included, L-G monitor type, 30 basic size, 24 VDC voltage, 21.0 Cv (in-out), 43.0 Cv (exhaust), solenoid controlled actuation, and inline mounting.
Internally monitored double valves contain a built-in monitoring device that checks for the proper operation of each valve element. If the internal monitor detects a valve fault on a particular cycle, the double valve will fail to a safe condition (all downstream air is exhausted) and the monitor will lock-out to inhibit further operation of the device. Normal operation can only be resumed by a momentary reset signal to the valve, either pneumatic or electric.
The original application for these double valves was in the control of clutch/brake mechanisms on stamping presses, but they have found their way into many other critical applications such as alternative lockout systems for energy isolation, air cylinder press load-holding systems, as well as other Category -3 and -4 safety circuits.
